Take a lancet from the bag. Twist and remove the thin tab. The lancet is now ready to use.
7. Pierce your finger
Clean your finger with the alcohol swab provided and allow your finger to dry.
Position the lancet on the rounded end of the right or left of your chosen fingertip. Press down firmly until you hear a click.
8. Wipe away the first drop of blood.
Wipe away the first drop of blood with the gauze provided. Ensure your hand and arm are angled downwards.
Firmly massage your hand and finger to form new droplets of blood. Do not touch or squeeze the fingertip.
9. Collect the sample in the blood collection tube
Lightly tap the droplets of blood against the inside of the blood collection tube. It must be filled to the top line marked on the side of the tube.
An under-filled or over-filled blood collection tube will not be accepted.
Note: If the blood flow stops, you will need to use the same finger on your opposite hand, or your middle finger.
10. Firmly seal the blood collection tube & mix the sample
Wash your hands and apply the band-aid. Replace the lid back on the blood collection tube and press down firmly until you hear a click. Turn the tube upside down ten times to mix the sample. This is vital for the sample to be preserved for the laboratory.
11. Seal the sample in the biohazard bag.
Place the blood collection tube in the biohazard bag. To seal the biohazard bag, remove the plastic strip and fold down the flap.
13. Place the biohazard bag into the kit box
Place the biohazard bag back into the LetsGetChecked kit box. Ensure you have folded the biohazard bag flap to seal it. Do not remove the white pad located in the biohazard bag. Ensure you have completed the label which is located on the biohazard bag.
14. Return the sample
Place the kit box in the return envelope provided. Check your return label for your delivery method and send the sample back on the same day.
Taking a LetsGetChecked At Home Urine Test Kit
Step 1: Before you start
You must read the written instructions and warnings included in the leaflet with your kit before you start to collect your sample.
You should collect your sample on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday and return the sample on the same day. Please visit our website and select your kit to review the 'When to Test' section for more information.
Step 2: Check when to collect your sample
Make sure to collect the first stream of urine in the morning. Do not cleanse the genital area before you collect your sample. Do not urinate at least 1 hour before you collect your sample. It is important to be aware of the window period, this is the time it may take between exposure to an infection and when it could show up in a test.
Step 4: Complete the details on the label
It is important to fill in the label located on the biohazard bag with the date of collection and your date of birth and gender. This is essential for the lab to process your sample. Please do not remove any labels from the kit components as they are required for sample identification.
Step 5: Do not remove liquid from the urine sample tube
Some sample tubes may contain a liquid solution. This depends on the type of sample tube provided. If your sample tube contains liquid, do not remove this liquid solution from the urine sample tube at any point. This is required for sample processing.
Step 6: Wash your hands and open the urine collection cup
Wash your hands in warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly. Open and expand the urine collection cup by squeezing opposite corners. The cup has a plastic lining to collect urine. Please take care not to tear or puncture the lining.
Step 7: Half fill the urine collection cup
Pass the first part of your urine into the collection cup. Collect only the first portion of your urine stream into the collection cup. Fill the cup no more than half full. Finish urinating into the toilet.
Step 8: Pipette from the collection cup into the urine sample tube
Use the pipette to transfer urine from the urine collection cup into the urine sample tube. Slowly fill the urine sample tube between the two marked lines on the side of the tube.
Do not fill above or below the two marked lines or your sample cannot be processed. Never remove urine from the urine sample tube as this may affect your test result.
Step 9: Close the urine sample tube tightly
Screw the lid tightly onto the urine sample tube. Wash your hands in warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly.
Step 10: Seal the urine sample tube in the biohazard bag
Place the urine sample tube in the biohazard bag. To seal the biohazard bag, remove the plastic strip and fold down the flap.
Step 11: Place the biohazard bag in the kit box
Place the biohazard bag back into the LetsGetChecked kit box. Ensure you have folded the biohazard bag flap to seal it. Do not remove the white pad located in the biohazard bag. Ensure you have completed the label which is located on the biohazard bag.
Step 12: Return the sample

Place the sample bottle in the biohazard bag. Do not remove the white pad from the biohazard bag.

Hold the self-sampling wand in one hand and the sample tube in the other. Place the white tip of the self sampling wand into the sample tube.
Bend the self-sampling wand so that the white tip breaks o and falls into the sample tube.
Step 9: Close the sample tube
Put the lid on the sample tube and close firmly. Discard the blue wand handle.
Step 10: Wash your hands
Wash your hands in warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly.
Step 11: Seal the sample in the biohazard bag
Place the sample tube into the biohazard bag. Do not remove the absorbent pad from the biohazard bag. To seal the biohazard bag, remove the plastic strip and fold down the flap
