At home bowel cancer test to detect small amounts of blood in your stool sample, with online results in 5 days.
Bowel cancer is the most common cancer in men and women. As one in two cases of bowel cancer are fatal due to late diagnoses, it’s important to highlight risks early. Our home faecal immunochemical test (FIT) can detect small amounts of blood in your stool sample, allowing your physician to treat the cancer, if detected early.
NOTE: If this test comes back as positive, it DOES NOT mean you have cancer, but we will refer you to a consultant Gastroenterologist or your GP for further examination.
Faecal Immunochemistry Test (FIT).
This test is designed to help determine a presence of cancerous or precancerous growths in the bowel by detecting blood that is invisible to the naked eye. This test detects human haemoglobin in the stool and so other sources of blood in stool, such as from your diet will not cause a positive result.
All men and women aged 50-74.
If you have a 1st degree family member (mother, father, brother, sister) who has had colorectal cancer, you should visit your GP for a colonoscopy referral when you're at an age that is 10 years younger than the age your relative first had cancer. If your relative had cancer at 50, you should be examined at 40.
Over 42,000 cases of bowel cancer are diagnosed each year, making bowel cancer the 2nd most common cancer in men and women.
It is estimated that one in two people will get a form of cancer in their lifetime according to Cancer Research UK.
You are 20 times more likely to survive bowel cancer if detected early. This means catching pre-cancerous or stage one cancerous cells, rather than stage four cancer which can be fatal in 95% of cases.
Our labs use the latest technology to analyse smaller samples of blood. Our tests are easy to use, so there’s no needles and no fuss.
Once you return your sample in the supplied packaging, you will receive results to your password protected account within as little as five days, with direct contact for positive results.
Orders and test results are reviewed by certified medical professionals, with support from genetic counsellors, specialist doctors and registered nurses.
