Vaginitis is an inflammation or infection of the vaginal area. If you suspect you may have vaginitis, you're not alone. In fact, an estimated 1 in 3 American women will get BV in their lifetime. You should consider our home BV test if you are a female over the age of 18 and have symptoms of vaginitis.
You have a new sex partner or multiple sex partners.
You use hormonal contraceptives (for example, birth control pills).
You have diabetes.
You are taking or have recently taken antibiotics.
The sample must be collected in the morning, on a Monday - Friday, and returned on the same day.
You should not collect your sample during your menstrual period or if you are pregnant. You must wait at least 48 hours after using vaginal creams, gels, tablets, or engaging in sexual activity.
This test only detects candida vaginitis, trichomoniasis, and bacterial vaginosis. There is up to a 4 week window period from the time of exposure for trichomoniasis to become detectable. If you think you tested too early or you are concerned you may have been exposed to the disease, repeat testing may be required.
This test will not identify most sexually transmitted diseases. If you are concerned about possible exposure to an STD, we also offer a range of at-home tests that may be suitable.

LetsGetChecked has a team of board-certified physicians who have created expert support materials and detailed result breakdowns for your testing journey. Our clinical team is on standby throughout the testing process and, if you test positive, you may receive a call to discuss your results.
The sample must be collected before 10am on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and returned on the same day.
For your urine sample please make sure to collect the initial stream of urine in the morning before cleansing the genital area and do not urinate at least 1 hour prior to collection.
If you are concerned about possible exposure to one of these infections you should refrain from sexual activity until you receive a test result. For some infections, retesting after treatment may be required.
Return your sample using the carrier method provided within the sample collection kit. Each of our health tests includes a prepaid shipping envelope to return your samples to the laboratory.
Please do not collect or return samples on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
