At home iron test to measure your iron levels for anemia or hemochromatosis with online results in 5 days.

Iron is required for the production of red blood cells (a process known as hematopoiesis). It is also responsible for carrying oxygen (in the hemoglobin of red blood cells) throughout the body so all cells can produce energy. Iron helps remove carbon dioxide from the body.

When the body's iron stores become so low that not enough normal red blood cells can be made to carry oxygen efficiently, a condition known as iron deficiency anemia develops. Other symptoms can include fatigue, weakness and difficulty maintaining body temperature.

  • What does it test for?

The Iron Check tests the level of iron in the blood to determine if you are at risk of iron deficiency anemia or iron overload, known as hemochromatosis.

    • Iron: is measured in the body by examining iron that is attached to the protein transferrin.
    • Total Iron-Binding Capacity (TIBC): is a measure of all of the available proteins for transporting iron around the body. This indirectly tests transferrin levels in the body.
    • Ferritin: Ferritin stores iron in the body. Ferritin is tested to identify the storage capacity of iron in the body.
    • Transferrin Saturation: Transferrin is the primary carrier of proteins around the body, it is formed in the liver and it's main function is transporting iron around the body.
